Sex and the City 2 Celebri - Teenie Style Match

Non-spoiler alert: (Our gal Jessica has already seen Sex and the City 2, and we've made her swear on her Chanel that she won't tell us a thing, so you can keep reading without fears of figuring out the Aidan-Big thing)

Now, I heard a rumor (ah, E! News, what would I do without you?) that there was a flashback sequence in the movie. Since we swore Jess to secrecy, I have no confirmation but it got me thinking--- if the fabulous gals were super-flashing back to toddlerdom, what would they be wearing to their Hamptons Memorial Day Weekend get-aways with their families? And who better for a fashion smack down than eclectic, creative Carrie and hostess-with-the-mostess Char?

So for the love of 'all the girls in their mother's pearls" let me know who's style you like best!

Get their look at psychobabyonline:
On Carrie: ( Pink Fedora, $13, New York Dolls tee, $21, Black Tutu, $12, Fashion Sticker Collection, $4.99
On Charlotte: Plaid Tank Dress, $47, Heart Tea Set, $31, Cupcake Kit, $19.99)

Stylists: Kristina, Jess and Molly

Alien in a Cup

Stare into the cup, then tilt your head slightly to the right. Do ya see it? Try again and you'll see the miracle that lives in a coffee mug in our sink here at Psychobaby. It's not the Virgin Mary or sweet baby Jesus. Todd is his name. Yep! Todd, the alien in the cup, decided to come hang out with us while here on Earth. Although he just appeared one afternoon, we're pretty sure he got separated from his alien parents, who may be shopping in the neighborhood, who knows. Todd loves two things: 1. Being photographed (As he did not shy away from the dozens of pics that Linday and I snapped of him) 2. Peaco, the cute pink Ugly Doll. We're convinced they have become quite the pair after hours. Well its day 2 and Todd still lives in a cup which no one is allowed to touch. Todd, we heart you !

Our Spidey Sense in Tingling!

As parents, we spend an awful lot of time instilling confidence in our children. We tell them they can be anything they want to be. What better way to prove it, than by allowing them to transform themselves into mini superheros! Sure they could grow up to be the President of the United States, but until that happens, I bet they'd rather be Spiderman.

1. Yikes Twins, Red Rover Hooded Towel, $39
2. Fairy Tale Wishes, Superhero Spray, $10
3. Psychobaby, customizable Kapow tee, $26-$28
4. Psychobaby, customizable Superhero tee, $26-$28

The hardest working mom in kids' showbiz

Don't let her tiny frame fool you. At 5"2, Miss Ann is a ball of sweet lovin' energy on stage. Kids and parents alike, are flocking to hear her folk rock fun!

Warren Truitt of the Kids Music That Rocks blog says this about Clap For Love: "On what may be the kids' album with the grooviest title of the year, Chicago's Ann Torralba uses a mix of world, folk, and rock influences to create one of the best children's CDs of 2008. On her first CD for kids as Little Miss Ann, 2006's Music for Tots, Torralba featured a more folk rock sound. Well, the reverse is true on Clap for Love: rock is definitely emphasized over folk, as Ann and her full band flesh out originals and traditional tunes."

This busy lady can be seen all summer at some favorite Chicago spots including the fabulous Beat Kitchen this Sunday, May 16th. at noon.
Tickets are $5 at the door or purchase them in advance from ticketweb.com

Meet the Boogers!

We had a chance to meet with the Boogers, who are performing live at Reggie's this Saturday at 3pm! The Boogers are Crusty (guitar and vox), Greenie (bass) and Sticky (drums) and these Chicagoans' debut album, "The Road to Rock" received a 2009 National Parenting Publications Gold Award! Their special brand of punk rock for the kids is based on lead singer Crusty's PhD in developmental psychology, so each song not only rocks, but helps kids learn, too! Crusty states, " Our goal is to bring hard rock/punk to the kiddos and their parents. I wouldn't say all of the kids' music out there sucks, because that's not true. There's lotsa great kids' music and musicians, especially in Chicago, but I douldn't find anything that really ROCKED. So, I started the Boogers to provide kid-friendly punk rock for my 3 boys, and it turned out a lot of people were looking for the same thing." Now here's a quick Get To Know You with Crusty from the Boogers!

1. My first instrument was: A drum set constructed out of empty Baskin-Robbins ice-cream tubs. It didn't last long!

2. My first song was: The 1st Boogers song was "Mary" a fast-rave up loosely based on "Mary Had a Little Lamb, which you can see on You Tube.

3. My first gig was: The Boogers' first gig was a benefit at Fitzgerald's. ..We've been invited back every year and now we are the main act.

4. The weirdest place I've ever played was: Great America - 'nuff said!

5. My favorite song to sing is: Hard to 'pick,' but PB &J is great because it is so fast and the kids just go into the joyous frenzy celebrating the world's greatest sandwich."

6. My desert isle albums are: Road to Ruin (Ramones), London Calling (the Clash) and Rock for Light (Bad Brains)

We hope you enjoyed this quick one-on-one with Crusty from the Boogers, and that you can come out and rock at Reggie's this weekend. The Boogers have made it their mission to bring the rock to kids and their families - one of those families should be yours!!!

We're seven today!

They say that having your own business is like having another child. I agree, and now my FOURTH is seven years old. It's bitter sweet, to be sure, but much more sweet than bitter.
Sure I miss the early innocent years, when Psychobaby wobbled and occasionally stumbled, but got right back up again kicking and screaming, and carried on. Then, growing strong, finding its' unique personality, expressing its individuality, trying new things, delighting in each success. Yup, I'm one proud mama, and as I sit here reflecting on many motherly things, like the fact that Oliver, my oldest son and the original Psychobaby is going to be TWELVE this summer, one truth glares out at me, it really does take a "village" to raise a child. For me, that village has been my partner Lisa, the wonderful women who work for us and also give Psychobaby the daily love and nurturing that it needs. But most of all, YOU have been the village that has raised this other kid of mine. Thank you for loving Psychobaby, it loves you back and so do I.
