The World Cup Shimmy

Because I'm too clumsy to be a cheerleader for Brazil myself, here's a little dude that portrays my excitement (and hopefully victory dance) perfectly. His moves are better at 2, than mine will ever be. -Linday

Sweet Summer Treats!

Summer is finally here, and I wanted to celebrate the sunshine by sharing my favorite new picks with you! Whether you've got a new baby that needs longer sleeves to balance out that a/c, or are taking two BFF's to the beach to make sandy cupcakes, we've got sweet treats for the summer heat!

This Song Belongs To Daddy!

Since my parents have long been empty-nesters, this Father's Day I wanted to give my Dad a song he and my Mom could dance in the kitchen to after he returns from his fishing trip! I hope you all enjoy my pick, a live version of Frank Sinatra singing "Fly Me To The Moon." Happy Father's Day, everyone!

Happy Father's Day to all you rockin' dads!

Moms may deserve all the credit, but not on this day! Happy Father's Day! Without you, there wouldn't be psychobabies! So, put down the lawnmower and pick up that dusty guitar and rock out to your favorite tune. You're a classic! -Marlo

My Dad Is Cool Because...

When we were talking Father's Day plans at the store, I jumped at the chance to write about how cool I think my Dad is. I mean, come on, he just got back from a month long trip to Peru. He found airline tickets online for $330 round trip St. Louis to Lima (including taxes)! He returned with amazing stories- about the people he met (including how a local musician stole his backpack) and, of course, Machu Picchu. He even sent me flowers as soon as he got home for missing my half birthday. To sum it up: he's a deal-finding, talk-to-anyone, amazing-adventurer-who-even- sends-flowers-on-obnoxious-holidays, kind of guy.

I have to admit I haven't always thought my Dad was cool. Growing up, he embarrassed me. While most the other Dads were sitting around the tables at my high school father-daughter dance, my dad was doing his 'el boogaloo' dance move in the middle of the dance floor. When we visited Ireland when I was 14, I wanted to be back at the B&B reading a Seventeen magazine, but my Dad made me go to local pubs every night to listen to traditional Irish music and 'get to know the locals.' The worst was my cousin's wedding weekend- where while we were on a boat, he thought it would be a great idea to moon another boat...filled with my cousin's fiance's family and friends.

It's taken me awhile to really realize I would rather have a dad who gets up and dances with me and all my friends. A dad who ignores my teenage whiney complaints, sneaks me into pubs and let me experience my heritage. And although I am still not too happy about watching my Dad moon someone, it's a story my family still tells and laughs to the point of tears. So maybe it was kind of worth it. Maybe.

Father's Day shouldn't be about the new tie, or those golf balls you got dad. To me, it's about saying thanks. Thanks for the flowers on my half birthday, thanks for not killing me when I smashed the car door, thanks for always singing 'You can't always get what you want/but if you try sometimes, you"ll get what you need,' to me, but most of all thanks for being my dad and being patient while I figured that out- I think you're pretty cool.

My Dad is Rad!

Music is one of my great loves in life. My dad was, and still is, madly passionate about music of all kinds. Some of my best memories of my childhood involve going to see live music of some kind with him. I remember asking him why the lady was dancing so "silly" when we were at an outdoor concert listening to Joni Mitchell. He simply replied that she was just "feeling the music". That answer felt completely valid as I watched her gently spin around in circles with her eyes half closed and a look of sheer happiness on her face.
Classical music, is by far, his favorite and he played it morning, noon and night. He blared it out of the car as if it were the Rolling Stones. It mortified me at the time! I distinctly remember fidgeting in my seat in stuffy concert halls and getting into massive amounts of trouble with my older sister as we made up not so quiet games to make the time go as quickly as possible. Now, as an adult, my number one morning choice of music is Mozart.
So this Father's Day I thank my dad for the love that I have for Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Blues, Classical music...

What's Hot in the City? Okutani!!!

It's Hot in the City, and what's hotter than 90 degree weather at a street fest?  The new rockin' style from Okutani!  Pattern your style after the rock 'n roll world with their new summer fedoras, onesies and bibs, perfect for your little Psychobaby who is always giving you a Rebel Yell!

This is for all you hot mama's!

To put it mildly, pregnancy is a roller coaster of emotions. One minute you feel sexy the next you feel like Shamoo (that's what my husband made the mistake of calling me once, and I stress once!).
I wish I would have seen this when I was pregnant. I could have used a laugh! This video had my whole office in tears.
Funny or just wrong?

Jack, Megan or Moonbeam?

Growing up with the name Marlo wasn't always easy. I couldn't find those cute pencils or cups with my name on them. To this day I respond to many pronunciations and spellings, Marla, Margo and my favorite, Mario. At the ripe old age of, ah, I'm not telling, I have learned to love it. It feels good to have a name that hasn't ranked in the top 1000 since 1977. I am hoping that my 9 year old son Greylan will someday feel the same!
In the mean time, thank goodness technology has provided a solution for those of us with , well, unusual names. Psychobaby's Custom Shop can put any name on a tee, so no one need feel left out. Whether you kids' name is Bluebell Madonna (Geri Halliwell) or Destri (Steven Speilberg), they will wear their unique name proudly on their bellies.
